Mrs. H Deraway

Mrs. H Deraway

Hi Guys! My name is Heather. I am a newly-wed to my Husband, Bradley. (Although, We have been together for 13+ years) We are raising our 2 fur babies, Honeybear & Kya. They are the sweetest, most clumsy, loving fur-balls that you will every meet. My Husband & I love to go fishing together. We love to fish So MUCH, that is was our theme for our wedding. We love the outdoors, to go camping, and target shoot with guns. I have been focusing more on self love, playing with mixed media arts & exploring meditation. Over 2 years ago, I had a co-worker who graduated to become a pharmacist. She took her boards & failed. It was devastating. She felt like a failure. I created a personal box filled with little gifts, inspirational quotes, & goodies to show her that I cared for her in this difficult time. For 1 minute, she was happy and smiling as she opened her justbecause box. Months later, she did try again for her boards and passed. During that same week, I had a friend who lost her best friend in a car accident. It was absolutely heartbreaking. I didn't know what to say or how to approach her. I filled another box with as many yellow trinkets as I could find. I secretly placed it on her porch in hopes to make her smile. It worked! She had texted me a Thank you, for being so sweet & making her smile for 1 minute, when all that she knew was to cry. Both of these experiences made me feel as though actions speak louder than words. We don't always know what to say & we don't always know how others might react. When I created these justbecause gift boxes, I did not fathom the results that I received. Boxes were being sent to woman that had recently lost babies, to college girls that were states apart from each other, to new mothers, & to long lost friends. Even if it is just for one minute, the gift giver will make the receiver smile & forget about their current circumstance & feel loved.
